RHINELANDER - Beer, wine and food were on the menu for sampling yesterday in Rhinelander.

The third annual Hodag Hops and Vines took place at the Elbo Room Lounge.

It's the first time they're having it in downtown Rhinelander.

People had the chance to enjoy food and drinks from a selection of Rhinelander restaurants and breweries.

The chamber of commerce sold tickets online for the first time this year.

Executive Director Lara Reed says it helped bring in more people from outside the Northwoods.

"I sent tickets to Kenosha, Wausau, to Phillips. So really we're hopefully drawing from a wide range, which is ultimately hope of any event that we have," said Reed.

"I want people to come and experience Rhinelander. I want them to see that on this great day there's tones of restaurants and shops and things downtown. So we're just kind of giving them an excuse to come experience the town."

Reed says the money raised from yesterdays event will be used to make next year bigger and better.
