WESTON - In January, Gary Andersen was hired as Wisconsin's new head coach. Wednesday night Andersen and his coaching staff are in Weston meeting area Badger fans.

The event was a fund-raiser for the North Central Mendotta Club. Ultimately raising money for the Badgers Football Program.

Anderson of course is taking over the program, after Bret Bielema left for Arkansas. The new coach was glad to have a chance and connect with area Badger fans. He's also happy with the team he has to work with.

"Tremendous kids," Andersen praised about his team. "Tremendous work ethic. Education is important to them."

Excitement was in the air for the new coach, and the upcoming season. The proud parents of some the players are impressed with the direction the coach has the team heading.

Jeff Hemer is the father of Medford native Ethan Hemer, a Badgers defensive lineman. Jeff had high praise for Andersen.

"Everyone is is love with Coach Andersen," says Hemer. "I think he might be a home run for the Wisconsin Badger football program."
