Late Spring Delays Opening of Recreational FacilitiesSubmitted: 04/23/2013
Story By Newswatch 12 Newsteam

WAUSAU - The late arrival of spring means a late start to trails and sports facilities opening.

In Lincoln County, the Harrison Hills summer ATV trail system will open late.

So will the Underdown recreational trails.

Normally they'd be ready by May first, but conditions are just too wet.

In Marathon County, all city of Wausau and county park sports fields are closed because of melting snow and wet conditions.

People are asked to stay off the fields so they don't damage the turf.
