Big Ol' Fish - April 19Submitted: 04/19/2013
Story By Marisa Silvas

- The snow has played havoc on the spring sports season. But area anglers continue to plug away on the ice.

Marisa Silvas tells us your stories in this week's "Big Ol' Fish."

Crandon's Ryan Alloway took a trip with his dad to Door County. The 13-year old went out with JJ's guide service and brought in this 25 inch walleye. Ryan hooked it on a green oddball in 16 feet of water... and this catch made his vacation even more special.

Paul Harder of Tomahawk went ice fishing a few weeks ago on an area lake.

He was pleased to come away with this beauty. The crappie made his outing worthwhile and measured 14 and a half inches.

Many people may be frustrated with the snow... but last Monday, Joe Beda was loving it, cause he got a snow day from North Lakeland Elementary. Joe went out on Fish Trap Lake with his grandpa John and caught some blue gills. They used wax worms with a jig and kept the fish. He'll be celebrating his 10th birthday next week and says the gills made for a nice meal.
