MILWAUKEE - A second deer tests positive for Chronic Wasting Disease in Southern Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin DNR has confirmed Waukesha County's second deer to test positive for chronic wasting disease.

Tests confirm a 3 1/2-year-old buck killed March 3 in Wales had the brain disease.

It was observed wandering in a stupor.

A law enforcement officer dispatched the animal.

It was the second CWD-positive deer found in Waukesha County this year.

A doe, 9 to 12 years old, was found dead Jan. 3 in the Town of Delafield.

It also tested positive.

Reports say it's the first CWD postive testing in the county in 11 years of testing.

The Town of Delafield's finding caused a ban on baiting and feeding deer in Washington County.

The practices had already been prohibited in Waukesha County.

MERRILL - Every firefighter in Merrill needs two sets of protective gear. One is for day-to-day fire calls and another serves as a backup.  But at more than $2,000 each, that turnout gear isn't cheap.

"You know artists spend a lot of time by themselves; it's just the nature of being an artist," said artist Barry Van Dusen. "And then we have these intense social situations like this when we maximize our time by talking shop with each other. It's a great way to recharge your batteries, I guess, artistically."
