Packers Preseason Schedule Announced
Story By Associated Press

GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers will open the preseason at home against the Arizona Cardinals the week of August 8-12.

The NFL has released the preseason schedule, but has left open dates and time of the locally-televised games for each team to finalize.

One of the toughest teams in the NFL will visit Green Bay for the third preseason game.

The Seattle Seahawks could give the Packers a good indication if they're ready for the regular season in a nationally-televised game August 23rd at Lambeau Field.

The Packers play at St. Louis the week of August 15-19 and finish up with Kansas City August 29-30.

The regular-season schedule is expected from the NFL in about two weeks.

ANTIGO - When police showed up to a car crash near Antigo this week, the driver seemed discombobulated and out of sorts.  Sunday night, Pao Vang, 33, told officers he had just flown in from vacation with someone else, even though he was the only one in the car.  But it's what officers did find in that car soon after that has Vang in trouble.

Police towed the car from an intersection near the Langlade County Airport (where Vang said he just came from) to a nearby gas station.  There, officers noticed bags full of what appeared to be marijuana sticking out of duffel bags in plain sight.  They got a search warrant and found 133 pounds of high-grade marijuana.

RHINELANDER - Stephanie Schneider will not face criminal charges for animal mistreatment.

After more than three months of waiting for a decision on potential prosecution, Oneida County Assistant District Attorney Mary Sowinski announced her choice not to press charges on Friday afternoon.

Schneider was the operator of It Matters to One, a dog rescue operation in Sugar Camp. In February, sheriff's deputies seized 39 of her dogs, later arresting Schneider and recommending animal mistreatment charges.

Sowinski wouldn't give a reason why she decided not to press charges against Schneider.
