Falcons Hockey Hosts Weekend League Tournament Submitted: 04/04/2013

EAGLE RIVER - An exciting weekend of hockey in Eagle River gets underway Friday morning.

The Eagle River Falcons host the annual Great Lakes Hockey League Tournament. It's the only adult-amateur league with full-contact checking. Most of the games will be played at the Eagle River Hockey Dome.

Action begins at 11am Friday morning. Eagle River plays their first game Friday night at 8:30pm at the Dome.

Semifinals are Saturday night. The Championship is Sunday afternoon.


The Falcons finished 5th in the 10 team league during the regular season.

CRANDON - People know John Muir as Father of the National Parks and an early pioneer of wilderness preservation.
 
The Wisconsin Historical Society is now preserving his memory with a free traveling exhibit, currently on display at the Crandon Public Library.

"Wisconsin's John Muir" includes replicas of images and manuscripts from the Wisconsin Historical Society archives. The Crandon Public Library also received 20 copies of Muir's memoir about his childhood in Wisconsin and other primary sources.
