RHINELANDER - The Rhinelander girls basketball team is looking for a new head coach for the second year in a row. Mark Jacobson has turned in his resignation.
Jacobson went (5-18) in his only year as head coach. The Hodags struggled at the beginning of the year losing 15 of their first 16 games. But they finished the season on a strong note, even winning a playoff game.
Jacobson took over after Anita Mattek resigned in June 2012. Mattek had coached the Hodags for three seasons. Mark plans to continue to help the girls program, but in a lesser capacity. Rhinelander Athletic Director Charlie LaHam is grateful for the time Jacobson's efforts.
