Betancourt Returning to MilwaukeeSubmitted: 03/26/2013
Story By Joe Dufek

MILWAUKEE - A familiar face is returning to the Brewers. Milwaukee signed free agent infielder Yuniesky Betancourt.

Betancourt batted .252 with 13 home runs and 68 RBIs in 152 games in 2011 for the Crew. However, he also committed 21 errors.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal reports the signing is likely due to a shortage of infielders. Taylor Green and Jeff Bianchi were likely headed to the Disabled List with hip injuries.

Just yesterday the Brewers added St. Louis free agent pitcher Kyle Lohse to the starting rotation.

Betancourt needs to pass physical to complete the deal Wednesday morning. He was with the Phillies this spring. However he was released a few days ago at his request.
