Meth Bust Goes Down in Ironwood

IRONWOOD - Neighbors got evacuated as police busted a meth lab in Ironwood early this morning.

A month long investigation led to the arrest of three Ironwood residents.

A search warrant was served on Florence Street in Ironwood at 1:30 this morning.

Neighbors were evacuated during the bust, and taken elsewhere for their safety.

The three people arrested are in the Gogebic County Jail.

Anticipated charges include manufacturing meth and maintaining a drug house.

Police pulled over the 29-year-old's car because he had a felony warrant for his arrest. The man's name is being withheld until he's been formally charged.

At an information session in Merrill on Wednesday, the VA said design plans are about 35 percent done. But a John Knapp, a VA representative, couldn't give a timeline on when construction might start or finish.

He said it depends on the contractor, the weather, and approval from the VA.
