Missing Police Dog Found in Portage County
PORTAGE COUNTY - A missing K-9 officer in Portage County gets a reunion with his friends in law enforcement.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department plans a press conference at 1 p.m.

The Wood County Sheriff's Department rescue facebook page confirms Toro has been found.

A post reads "thank you to all that kept an eye open for K-9 Toro. We are glad to report he has been found and reunited with the Sheriff's Department"

Toro is a K-9 officer with the Wood County sheriff's department.

A state trooper had asked for a dog to help search a car in Portage county Sunday night.

After helping with the search, Toro took off into a wooded area behind state Highway 54 at Johnson Avenue.

Officers had been searching for Toro since then.

LAONA - More than 130 veterans hit the links in Laona Monday for a day just for them.

Nicolet Country Club in Laona hosted its seventh annual veteran golf outing.

Former ROTC member Thomas Rice says having veteran-based events help keep veterans in touch with each other.

"[It's all about] the comradery and good times with not only the World War ll veterans but also Korean War veterans and Vietnam [veterans]," said Rice.

NORTHWOODS - Good drivers should follow the basic rules of the road: Don't drink and drive, wear a seatbelt, and follow the speed limit. For ATV and UTV drivers those same rules can apply, but DNR wardens also want people to consider some other factors. 

So far in 2018 at least 19 ATV/UTV accidents resulted in a fatality.
