Ice Golfing on Lake MinocquaSubmitted: 03/02/2013
Story By Hayley Tenpas

MINOCQUA - You may not think it's time to start practicing your golf swing just yet.

But in Minocqua today people were swinging away.

The eleventh annual "Best Ball" Ice Golf tournament took place on Lake Minocqua.

Instead of the green, they played on the ice, and substituted a golf ball for a tennis ball.

Organizer Deanne Kidd says people keep coming back for the unique sport.

So we decided to try an event that would be fun and at the end of the winter where everyone could have a good time and raise a bunch of money for the causes.

The tournament benefits different local charities.

Over 11 years they've raised thousands of dollars for the community.
