Story By Joe Dufek

WAUSAU - Sectionals semis were played Thursday night. Everyone just two games away from a trip to Madison. That's where the state tourney will be played next week.

In Divsion 2, Rhinelander faced Hortonville at Wausau West high School. It was a rematch of last year's regional final. The Hodags won that one.

However, Rhinelander could not repeat that outcome. The Hodags fell to Hortonville 50-43. Mitch Reinthaler led Rhinelander with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Rhinelander ends the season (20-3).

Jacob Bamke led the Polar Bears with a game-high 27 Points.

Meanwhile, in Altona, Prentice had their season end in the Division 5 Sectional semifinals. The Buccaneers fell to undefeated Clayton 45-33. Prentice finishes the year at (16-10).
