MADISON - You can say no to telemarketing calls and text messages by adding your phone numbers to the state's no-call list.

The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says the list will take effect April first. But the deadline to register is Thursday.

The department updates the list four times each year. But if you're already on it you only have to renew every two years.

The list doesn't apply to political calls, calls from non-profits and calls made with a person's permission or at their request.
