TOMAHAWK - The Northland Pines girls hockey team for the second straight year was in the section final. And for the second straight year - they faced the D-C Everest Co-op - known as the Central Wisconsin Storm in Tomahawk.
The result was also too familiar. Northland Pines fell 4-1 in the final. After scoring the first goal of the game, the Eagles allowed four unanswered.
Alex Guenther scored two of the four goals for the defending state champs.
Northland Pines finishes the year at (14-9-1). The Central Wisconsin Storm head to Madison with a (24-1-1) record.
RHINELANDER - Wausau Paper today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell its specialty paper business to a new company sponsored by KPS Capital Partners L.P. (“KPS”), a New York-based private equity firm with significant experience in the paper industry.
The new company will be known as Expera Specialty Solutions, LLC (“Expera”).
KPS, as previously announced, has also entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the specialty paper business of Packaging Dynamics Corporation
