Monico Burglary Moves Forward Submitted: 02/20/2013

RHINELANDER - 17-year-old Jeffrey Stefonik appeared in court Wednesday.

Stefonik is accused of breaking into and vandalizing a Monico home.

He faces six felonies, including burglary and criminal damages.

A deputy involved in the case took the stand in Oneida County court today.

She told the judge she talked to Stefonik at his home and he told her he participated in the break-in.

Two other young men face charges.

A 15-year-old is being charged in juvenile court.

17-year-old Anthony Briggs also is also charged in this case.

Stefonik and Briggs are out on bond.

Stefonik will enter his plea on March 4th.

The National Park Service closed the caves at the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Tuesday evening due to high winds.
