Deadly Dog Sledding AccidentSubmitted: 02/17/2013

WETMORE - An accident at a Michigan sled dog race leaves one team mourning the loss of one of the dogs.

At 5:40 this morning a dog team competing in the U.P. 200 Race crashed into a pickup truck. It happened on M28 in Wetmore.

The team inadvertently crossed M28 into oncoming traffic. A pickup truck was unable to avoid them.

Both the musher and the truck driver are ok, but one of the dogs died, and two others were injured.
