Northwoods Fire Departments Get DonationSubmitted: 02/05/2013

RHINELANDER - When you think of the fire fighters, you probably think of them helping you.

But a group of gracious women did exactly the opposite for a couple of local fire departments.

The General Federation of Womens Club donated Pediatric Jump Kits Bags for different fire departments.

The jump kits are equipped with first aid essentials.

They've sent them to Pine Lake and Newbold Fire Department.

The women will now start working with Crescent and Pelican first responding fire departments.

The races start at 10 in the morning on Saturday.

PARK FALLS - Volunteers at Catkins Animal Rescue in Park Falls work holidays, early mornings, and countless hours.

But they say the hard work is worth it. 

"We call it volunteering but it's basically you're an unpaid employee," said Catkins Animal Rescue Director Laura Stroud.
