Deputies Remind Drivers to Steer Clear of Plows in Bad WeatherSubmitted: 02/03/2013
Story By Lyndsey Stemm

MERRILL - Wednesday afternoon an Iowa semi truck driver got a scary reminder of why it's dangerous to pass snow plows when the weather is bad.

The driver tried to pass a Lincoln County Highway Department plow on Highway 51 south of Center Road.

The plow's side plow wing was up but the truck got too close and as you can see, it ripped a giant hole in the semi.

Neither driver was injured in the crash. But the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office want's to remind Northwoods drivers to give plow trucks room when they're out there working.
