Antigo's Noskowiak wins Newswatch 12 Player of the Week honorsSubmitted: 01/25/2013

ANTIGO - Last week, Antigo picked up a big conference road win against Lakeland. Cassius Noskowiak scored 11 points for the Red Robins. He also collected the Newswatch 12 Player of the Week.

He collected 62% of 2,102 votes. He'll receive a plaque.

The other nominees were Tomahawk goalie Evan Russo, Hodag gymnastics star Elle Spiegelhoff, and Celia Space of the Crandon girls basketball team.

MADISON - Wisconsin could force drunk drivers to pay in more money to support SafeRide Home programs in the state.

Earlier this week, we told you the state was planning to kick in less money to support county SafeRide Home programs. The program offers free taxi rides home from bars.

A proposal passed by a Capitol committee on Thursday night could help SafeRide Home.

It would add a $50 surcharge to some OWI offenses. That money would go back into SafeRide Home programs.

The proposal is part of the state budget, which has yet to become law.

Prosecutors think Yang stabbed and killed 13-year-old killed Isaiah Powell in February.

RHINELANDER - People can see something odd while traveling through a certain intersection in Rhinelander. A Wisconsin Public Service truck is holding up a power pole at the intersection of Phillips and Thayer Street. A few days ago, a driver hit the power pole, but the collision wasn't hard enough to actually knock the pole down.

MERRILL - A woman in the Merrill area could face charges for allegedly shooting her boyfriend in the leg.

Lincoln County Deputies got a call about 1:20 this morning about a domestic disturbance in the town of Merrill.

RHINELANDER - A one-car rollover slowed down traffic for about an hour in Rhinelander on Thursday.

Police received a call around 3:30 Thursday afternoon. No other cars were involved.
