Statton's General Store Broken Into-- AgainSubmitted: 01/21/2013

TOMAHAWK - Thieves probably went looking for guns this weekend. They broke into Statton's General Store in Tomahawk not once, but twice.

The first attempt this weekend was early Friday morning, around 3 a.m.

This isn't the first time the owners have dealt with this either. Thieves stole several guns from Statton's just this last October.

Friday morning the alarm company called the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office. When police got there they saw a window had been pried out.

Saturday night around 9:30 the same thing happened. But that time a witness saw a person climbing out of a window.

"They have firearms, they have antique collectibles, they have a wide variety of what an old general store would have. What those people are after... one would assume guns, but we don't know that without talking to our suspects," says Lt. Tim Fischer, from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Office.

Owner Dick Statton says he has no doubt what they were after. The same thing that's already been stolen from him before-- guns.

"I've been doing this 18 years. I've never heard of, or never experienced one business get hit so many times," says Lt. Fischer.

Police ask you to call the Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers if you have any information.
