Lund Trial Set to Begin Next WeekSubmitted: 01/08/2013
Story By Lane Kimble

ANTIGO - The trial against former Antigo football coach John Lund looks like it's set for next week.

Lawyers hammered out the final pre-trial details in Langlade County Court today. That included agreeing on witnesses.

Lund faces seven drug-related felony counts stemming from last winter.

The former elementary school principal was placed on leave in December 2011. The District Attorney then charged Lund in January for selling marijuana.

He and several other coaches and teachers in both Antigo and Merrill have since resigned or were fired for their roles in the drug ring.

The Lund trial begins next Tuesday.

"When I went through the program, that's where I learned about UW-Extension.  That's where I learned UW-Extension was hiring.  That's where I got the motivation to look at the job description and apply," Brewster explained.  "I worked at UW-Extension for four and a half years, and then the position had opened up here in the library in Three Lakes so I could be working back in my hometown, in my home community."
