St. Germain Woman Could Face Charges in Overdosing Death Submitted: 01/03/2013

RHINELANDER - A Northwoods woman already faces three drug-related felony charges. But it could get worse.

Twenty six-year-old Jennifer Heiting was in Oneida County court today. She's already accused of posessing and selling heroin.

The state could add more charges in the death of a Crescent man. Police think his death might have been caused by a heroin overdose.

Heiting admitted she and her boyfriend shipped heroin to David Stahl several times.

"Ms. Heiting had made an arrangement with Mr. Stahl to receive a package containing approximately $500 worth of heroin at Mr. Stahl's residence. Mr. Stahl was to sign for that package. The arrangement was because that package would arrive at Mr. Stahl's residence several hours earlier than it would have at Ms. Heiting's. And in exchange for doing so, Mr. Stahl was to receive two bindles of heroin," says an Oneida County investigator.

Two days later Stahl was found dead in his house. Heiting admitted to police she'd given him the heroin she'd promised.

Judge Michael Bloom ruled there was enough evidence against Heiting for the manufacturing and delivering charges. She'll enter a plea February 18th.

Prosecutors say they're still waiting on toxicology results to confirm the cause of Stahl's death before considering additional charges.

Part of the problem is the state's larger industries sell older technologies that are being overtaken by newer advances.

Three of the state's five largest sectors have to do with paper and printing.

That could be a concern as the nation shifts its demand toward digital media.

The study also says Wisconsin's main industries aren't as globally minded as are manufacturers elsewhere.

LINCOLN COUNTY - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office needs your help.

Investigators want to talk to anyone who was near Anita Bucki's home between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. on April 26.

That's the day she went missing. Her husband, Mark Bucki, has been charged in her murder.

Lieutenant Tim Fischer says he specifically wants to talk to anyone who may have seen a large fire that morning.

$200,000 bond for mother accused of trying to kill her children Submitted: 06/17/2013

RIB LAKE - A judge set bond at $200,000 for a Rib Lake woman accused of trying to kill four of her children.

Heidi Mann, 37, appeared in Taylor County Circuit Court this morning.

The judge also ruled Mann is not allowed to have unsupervised contact with her kids.

Taylor County Sheriff's deputies arrested Mann June 14.

She has six children. She's accused of trying to kill her three, five, eight and 11-year-old children using carbon monoxide back in March.

Mann is due back in court June 25.

RHINELANDER - Thousands lost power in the northwoods, thanks to heavy storms last night.

Wisconsin Public service says 5-thousand customers were without electricity right after the storm yesterday.

2-thousand were still out early this morning, but almost everyone should have service back now.

The Rhinelander area was hardest hit.

SUGAR CAMP - You can drive an ATV through practically anything; Snow, mud, water and soon, on Sugar Camp's roads.

Monday, the Sugar Camp Town Board decided to allow ATVs on its roads.

All ATV drivers must wear helmets and license their vehicles.

But even with those rules, some residents still think ATVs on the roads will be dangerous.

Judge rules on what evidence can be used in baseball bat murder case Submitted: 06/17/2013

WAUSAU - Last June, Kerby Kneiss died after he was beaten to death with a baseball bat.

Prosecutors think Warren Krohn was one of the men who killed Kneiss.

But Krohn's lawyer argues police might not have collected the evidence against him legally.

Krohn's lawyer argued that what he said while police interrogated him shouldn't be used in court. They say he was in police custody - but was not informed of his Miranda Rights.
