MINOCQUA - Adults hoping to take a more traditional approach to outdoor winter activities can sign up for a free ski program.
Minocqua Winter Park is offering "Locals Learn to Ski Free" for the first time this winter.
The program is every Sunday starting January 13th through the end of February.
Participants will get a one hour lesson and guided ski excursion.
Equipment is also provided.
There are ten spots open each week and you do need to sign up in advance by calling Minocqua Winter Park at (715) 356-3309 or through email at info@minocquawinterpark.org.
The program is paid for through a grant from the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation and various fundraisers.
MINOCQUA - “This disease is called the great imitator for a good reason,” says Jeff Waite.
Lyme disease can be good at hiding.
“Lyme disease is a bacterial type infection spread by a spiral keet, which is also considered a parasite. And it can be carried in the spit glands and intestinal track of ticks in this area. Particularly the deer tick," said Dr. Kurt Landauer.
