RHINELANDER - Family businesses seem to be disappearing quickly in favor of big chains.

But we found a Northwoods business that gives family a whole new meaning.

City Cleaners in Rhinelander has been doing laundry and dry cleaning clothes since 1944.

And it's a family affair.

The Brunette family still owns and operates it.

In fact, they're the entire workforce.

"We're a family owned organization and we're proud of it," says Bill Brunette.

Bill's father started the business 68 years ago.

Now Bill and his wife Betty are both older than 80, but still come to work every day.

So what keeps them in it?

"It's a challenge. Every garment that comes in is a challenge," Bill says.

"I like to be around people, and this you can do here, and you get to see everybody so you know what's going on in the whole town," Betty says.

Many of City Cleaners' customers have been coming to see the Brunettes for decades.

Betty seems to know each one by name.
