EAGLE RIVER - A northwoods football star received some recognition Wednesday. Northland Pines senior running back and linebacker Austin Ramesh was selected to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association's First team in two positions.
Ramesh, was a first team selection as both a running back and linebacker.
Ramesh rushed for 1670 yards and 19 touchdowns during the regular season. He also led the Eagles in tackles on defense.
Ramesh - who was last year's Newswatch 12 Player of the Year in football - will join the Badgers in the spring of 2014. He was also the offensive Player of the Year in the Western Peninsula Conference.
