WOODRUFF - Many people are concerned about the economy in this election.

In northern Wisconsin, protecting the right to own a gun is a priority too.

Friday, dozens of people came to Woodruff to support Republican Congressman Sean Duffy who was endorsed by the National Rifle Association.

The congressman spoke about the importance of protecting our second amendment rights.

Rep. Duffy said, "If you look at central and northern Wisconsin we like to hunt we like to be outdoors. We like to have our guns. So it's very important for people in this part of the country specifically to have representatives that protect their second amendment."

Other local Republican leaders came to support the congressman as well.

34th State Assembly candidate Rob Swearingen and 12th State Senate candidate Tom Tiffany were also there.

Democratic opponent Pat Kreitlow will be in the area on Sunday.

We'll have reaction from him on Newswatch 12 Weekend.
