New App Will Help Hunters Submitted: 11/01/2012
MADISON - A new app is designed to help hunters know when to pull the trigger.

The ``Sunrise-Sunset'' app will tell hunters what time it is legal to shoot a gun based on where they are.

The state Department of Natural Resources Bureau of Law Enforcement developed the new app and tested it with state game wardens before releasing it for Android phones.

It is not yet available for iPhones.

The app uses GPS to determine where the user is and what the opening and closing times are for various hunting seasons in that location.

The app can also show opening and closing times for other locations in the state and future dates.

The app costs 99 cents to download.

Part of the problem is the state's larger industries sell older technologies that are being overtaken by newer advances.

Three of the state's five largest sectors have to do with paper and printing.

That could be a concern as the nation shifts its demand toward digital media.

The study also says Wisconsin's main industries aren't as globally minded as are manufacturers elsewhere.

LINCOLN COUNTY - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office needs your help.

Investigators want to talk to anyone who was near Anita Bucki's home between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. on April 26.

That's the day she went missing. Her husband, Mark Bucki, has been charged in her murder.

Lieutenant Tim Fischer says he specifically wants to talk to anyone who may have seen a large fire that morning.

Langlade Hospital opened the doors to its new fitness center today.

36-year-old Christopher Meindel has been on the run for just more than a month.

He's listed as 5 foot 10 and 170 pounds.

He has multiple tattoos on both arms.

Meindel was convicted of making and selling meth.

Wisconsin Public service says 5-thousand customers were without electricity right after the storm yesterday.

2-thousand were still out early this morning, but almost everyone should have service back now.

Their old fashioned approach to cheese making still proves successful.

Bonnie Bletsoe and her husband David started the business in 1983.

They have a fully operational cheese factory, making cheese, the old way.
