RHINELANDER, ELCHO - The Rhinelander boys soccer team closed out their regular season home schedule on Tuesday. The Hodags - facing Medford on both Parent's Night and Senior Night. Hodags still undefeated in the GNC going in.
A win and they clinch the conference title. And they got the job done, as Rhinelander would go on to win 4-1. It's their second conference title in three seasons.
Nate Twedten assisted on both of Rhinelander's first two goals, which were scored by Nick Wright and Ben Franson. Rhinelander goal keeper Connor Labelle had a dozen saves.
Rhinelander closes out the regular season in Antigo on Thursday.
Meanwhile, in volleyball on tuesday night, Northern Lakes Conference co-leader Crandon in Elcho. Crandon was undefeated in the NLC going in.
However, Elcho put a stop to that. After dropping game one, the Hornets would win the next three games to pull off the upset.
MERRILL - Farmers in Lincoln and Langlade Counties may need to make a longer drive or call a different office for USDA services.
The Merrill Service Center will be temporarily split up between Rhinelander, Wausau, and Medford.
The Farm Service Agency will move to the Wausau Service Center and the Natural Resources Conservation Service will be relocated to the Rhinelander and Medford Centers.
