Wisconsin gets another chance against KentuckySubmitted: 03/30/2015
WISCONSIN - 364 days later the Badgers will get another chance against the Kentucky Wildcats in the National Semifinal on Saturday.

In last year's Final Four the Badgers had a two-point lead over Kentucky late in the game. But Kentucky's Aaron Harrison hit his first attempted three of the night with 5.7 seconds left.

Wisconsin's Traevon Jackson then missed a game-winning shot at the buzzer.

This year the Badgers have achieved their goals so far.

They won the Big Ten regular season and tournament championships, and they're headed to the Final Four. Now they get another chance to beat the Wildcats and reach the National Championship game.

The game will tip off at 7:49 Saturday night.

The Badgers last and only national championship in basketball came in 1941, when they were led by Rhinelander's John Kotz.

He won the 1941 NCAA Tournament MVP and was named an All-American in 1942 and 1943 thanks to his use of the revolutionary one-handed shot.

He learned the shot from his high school coach, Russ Leksell.

Kotz also led the Rhinelander Hodags to to their only state basketball championship in 1939.

Kotz was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991 and passed away in 1999.
