- 364 days later the Badgers will get another chance against the Kentucky Wildcats in the National Semifinal.
In last year's Final Four the Badgers had a two point lead over Kentucky late in the game.
But Kentucky's Aaron Harrison hit his first attempted three of the night with 5.7 seconds left.
Wisconsin's Traevon Jackson then missed a game winning shot at the buzzer.
This year the Badgers have achieved their goals so far.
They won the Big Ten regular season and tournament championship, and they're headed to the Final Four.
Now they get another chance to beat the Wildcats and reach the National Championship game.
The game will tip off at 7:49 Saturday night.
The Badgers last and only national championship in basketball came in 1941.
The Badgers were led by Rhinelander's John Kotz.
He won the 1941 NCAA Tournament MVP and was All-American in 1942 and 1943.
Kotz used the revolutionary one-hand shot.
He learned the shot from his high school coach, Russ Leksell.
Kotz also led the Rhinelander Hodags to it's only state basketball championship in 1939.
Kotz was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991 and passed away in 1999.
