- Attorney General Brad Schimel says you need to be aware of spoof phone calls coming from people claiming to be with the police.
The calls are also coming from spoofers claiming to be with the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
Callers are saying they're with the FBI and are asking for money. They're neither DCI nor FBI, and you should not give any personal information to them.
Schimel says that if you get a call from law enforcement and it doesn't seem right, you can easily call their non-emergency number and they can verify the call for you.
