- Over the last year, the Red Cross responded to a record number of hurricanes, floods, mudslides, and other natural disasters.
But the organization says it's helped more people from single-family house fires than all other disasters combined.
Red cross supporters got together in Illinois last night for the 25th annual Evening of Stars.
Aaron Rodgers headlined the event.
"It's tough to keep it up. Because it's draining," Rodgers told the crowd. "It's family and people and emotion. And you're out there pouring your heart and life into this and I just applaud you."
Rodgers volunteered for the Red Cross as a child and praised the work it does for those hit by tragedy.
