Crash near Merrill hurts three peopleSubmitted: 06/03/2015
MERRILL - Three people were taken to the hospital after a crash near Merrill Tuesday night. The call for help came in to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department at 7:00 p.m. The crash happened at the intersection of Highway 64 and Maple Road in the town of Pine River.



Investigators believe an 80-year-old Merrill man was making a left turn onto Maple Road when he turned in front an oncoming car driven by a 66-year-old Deerbrook man.

Both drivers and a passenger were taken to the hospital. Injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

 The Madison Police Department on Wednesday issued a summary of its finding that Officer Matt Kenny did not violate its deadly force policies in the March 6 shooting death of 19-year-old Tony Robinson.

Sonex Aircraft says CEO Jeremy Monnett and assembly mechanic Mike Clark died Tuesday when their single-engine plane crashed near Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

TOWN OF EDGEWATER - Sheriff's officials say the adult son of a couple in Sawyer County killed his parents and took his own life outside their rural home.

Chief Deputy Brigette Kornbroke says 41-year-old Eric Werachowski shot his father in the abdomen Saturday at the Town of Edgewater home he shared with his parents, then set fire to the house.
