- Democrat Mary Burke is back on the campaign trail on the heels of a poll showing her trailing Republican Gov. Scott Walker by 7 points.
Burke was scheduled to campaign Thursday in Port Washington. Walker is starting his day in the Wausau area, then going east to Green Bay, Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Sen. Ron Johnson was campaigning with Walker.
On Friday, Walker is to be joined on the campaign trail by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. They have stops planned in the Wausau area and Rhinelander.
The final Marquette University Law School poll released on Wednesday showed Walker with 50 percent support among likely voters and Burke with 43 percent. The poll had a 3-point margin of error.
