Lakeland Union High School holds 4th Annual Carols in the Commons Submitted: 12/04/2017
Minocqua - Christmas carols filled the Lakeland Union High School commons Monday night. The school's choir, culinary arts program, and art club all joined together for the 4th Annual Carols in the Commons this year.

The choir sang different Christmas Carols including classics like Jingle Bells. During the concert, people could enjoy appetizers made by culinary students.
The art club was there selling hand-painted ornaments.

"I like that we're given creativity and we're able to sell our art, even if we're not going to go into art professionally we can still get the experience and we have a lot of fun knowing that our art is hanging on someone's tree during the holidays," said Art Club Student President Juliana Dutcher.

While any ornament sales go to support the art club, any other funding raised this year went towards the Lakeland Food Pantry.

Art Teacher Dana Hammond says it's nice to see multiple clubs come together to put on the event.
"Well I think it's really wonderful to do cross-circular things, it just promotes all the wonderful programs and clubs we have here at Lakeland Union," said Hammond.

One of the organizers announced to the crowd Monday evening that this year's audience may be the biggest one they've ever had for Carols in the Commons.
