- Last Saturday police departments across the state collected prescription pills. It was a part of the National Prescription Drug "Take-Back" Day. Now, law enforcement, as well as residents, are getting recognition for ranking third in the nation for collecting the drugs.
Wisconsin law enforcements gathered more than 50 thousand pounds of unwanted, expired and unused prescription pills.
According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Wisconsin ranked third in the nation.
California and Texas are the top two states.
The attorney general and DNR praises everyone who helped out last weekend.
