National group targeted Iron County board candidates Submitted: 04/03/2014
Madison - A national group with ties to the billionare Koch brothers labeled seven candiates in Iron County as anti-mine. Three of those candidates won seats on the Iron County Board. Victor Ouimette, Brad Matson and Karl Krall all beat incumbent board members in Tuesday's elections. The group Americans for Prosperity has ties with the Koch brothers. A-F-P branded Ouimette, Matson, Krall and others as opposing Gogebic Taconite's plans for a mine in the area. The national organization spread two mailings in Iron County in the past few weeks.
