- Raffles, bake sales, and athletic competitions can be popular ways to raise money for various causes.But one group uses a different strategy to raise money for three area food pantries.Motorcycle enthusiasts gathered in Rhinelander for the 8th annual St. Pat's Day Motorcycle Swap Meet.As you can imagine, there were plenty of motorcycle parts for sale.
But organizers wanted to cater to all kinds of interests."We have motorcycle parts here for sale. We have knick-nakery stuff here for sale. We have a little bit here for everyone," said Reed Baresch, an event organizer.Jewelry, household items, and a gun raffle helped to also raise money for Camp American Legion in Lake Tomahawk."We just know that times are tough for a lot of people. Some people need help. We know that the veterans really need the help up there. We like to give back to the community as much as we can. We've been doing this for eight years and we're going to try and stay for as long as we can," said Baresch.Organizers hoped to raise more than 3-thousand dollars.
