Hearings planned on rules for hunting in state parks Submitted: 01/14/2014
Madison - A year ago, a new law allowed hunting and trapping in state parks. Now, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wants the public's thoughts on permanent rules. Republicans passed the law in 2012. When the law went into effect, the DNR created temporary rules to control hunting and trapping in state parks. Now the agency has developed a set of permanent rules. The new regulations make few substantial changes to the emergency rules. They maintain park season dates as they stand. They also make restrictions on shooting from or across trails permanent. The hearings include one in Wausau January 22nd. (Copyright 2014 Associated Press - All Rights Reserved)
