- Pushing back Medicaid changes would save the state millions of dollars.
Governor Scott Walker has proposed a 3 month delay in kicking about 77-thousand people off Medicaid.
It would save the state about 23-million dollars.
That's a delay in expanding coverage to poor, childless adults.
The Legislature's budget committee will take up the proposal on Monday.
The Assembly is scheduled to vote on it Wednesday, with the Senate taking it up later in the month.
An analysis of the proposal was done by the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau.
It revealed the estimated savings.
Health groups have called on Walker NOT to delay allowing an estimated 83-thousand childless adults to enroll in the state's BadgerCare Medicaid program.
