Hodags play musical chairs in backfield Submitted: 09/25/2013
Rhinelander - Move your quarterback to halfback, halfback to split end, and bring in a new quarterback.

Sounds like a plan for success to the Hodags.

That game of musical chairs is just what the 0-5 Rhinelander football team will do going into Friday's game at Medford. We'll see senior Luke Linsmeyer move from quarterback to halfback, and sophomore Brandon Reinthaler get his first start under center.

"Brandon's going to be a little bit more of a thrower than Luke was. Then we can get Luke the ball a little bit more in our running game," head coach Jim Moore said Wednesday.

You'd think keeping morale high would be tough for 17 and 18 year olds for a winless team.

Amazingly, it's been just the opposite.

"It can really get you down when you're getting beat by 36 points. But the kids, they really stay positive. I just hope we can get them a win here in these next few games," Moore said.

Rhinelander visits Medford at 7pm Friday.

Newswatch 12's Ben Meyer will have the play-by-play call on HodagSports.com.
