Oneida County Board considers boathouse rules Submitted: 08/20/2013
Rhinelander - You could see more boathouses on Oneida County's lakes.

The county board is considering an ordinance today that would allow flat-roof boathouses.

Under the ordinance, Lakefront homeowners could expand the size of piers and decks.

The ordinance would also allow flat topped boathouses on the shoreline. Oneida County planning and zoning director Karl Jennrich worries flat-topped boathouses will turn into decks.

But the ordinance bans desks and railings on boathouses.
