Across the U.S.
- The Transportation Security Administration is reporting a record number of guns taken away from airline passengers all over the country.
The rules of air travel have changed dramatically since 9/11.
Passengers are still trying to board airplanes with loaded guns and apparently, it's happening more often.
In the first six months of this year, transportation security administration screeners found 894 guns on passengers or in their carry-on bags.
That's a 30 percent increase over the same period last year.
TSA spokesman David Castelveter says they don't believe the passengers with guns are terrorists, but the agency can't explain why so many passengers try to board planes with guns.
The most common excuse offered by passengers is "I forgot it was there."
