- Wisconsin's senior population keeps growing.
New figures from the U.S. Census Bureau show people 65 and older account for 14.4 percent of Wisconsin's population.
That's an increase from 13.7 percent recorded in the April 2010 census.
An estimated 824-thousand seniors lived in Wisconsin last year.
Nationwide, 43 million people are 65 and older.
The latest figures also provide a glimpse at the state's minority population.
The fastest growing demographic is the multiracial population.
