Wolf Hunt Grows More Likely for Upper Peninsula Submitted: 05/03/2013
Lansing, Michigan - A wolf hunt in upper Michigan grew more likely after a vote in the state house. The Republican-led body approved a bill that could block voters from deciding whether to allow wolf hunting in Michigan. The measure would allow the Michigan Natural Resources Commission to decide which types of wildlife can be hunted. Currently only the Legislature has that power. Opponents say it's an attempt to run around a proposed referendum on wolf hunting in Michigan. The measure passed in the Senate last week and will soon head to Michigan Governor Rick Snyder's desk.
