Jobless Benefits Affected by Sequester Submitted: 03/16/2013
Madison - Wisconsinites who get federal unemployment will see their benefits drop by nearly 11 percent because of automatic budget cuts.

The state Department of Workforce Development said about 30-thousand people will be affected starting the week of April 7th. The reductions will continue at least through September 30th-- the end of the federal fiscal year.

As an example-- the department said the maximum weekly payment of $363 will fall to $324.

Eligibility rules remain the same. The department says people who receive jobless benefits from the state will not be affected.
