Rhinelander - A year ago, people with multiple sclerosis in the Northwoods were left without a place to share their challenges.
Now, not only is the Northwoods MS Self Help Group thriving, they want to take it a step further.
MS Walks are a spring tradition across the country.
But the closest one to us is in Wausau.
The Northwoods MS group wants to change that.
"We just felt like there was a need for, first of all, the support group. With the support group, there's different activities, and the consensus of our group was to have a walk," says Janet Marie Carlstedt, the Northwoods MS Group Facilitator.
The first time for an event means starting from scratch.
The MS group wants your help to make the Rhinelander walk a success.
That starts with an organizational meeting to discuss plans and volunteer efforts.
"Yes, come out and help us, and make it a day that everyone will say, we're grateful to be able to participate in a good cause," says Carlstedt.
The meeting is Tuesday night at 5:30 at the Department of Aging building in Rhinelander.
