Fire in Ironwood Caused by Meth Lab Submitted: 01/04/2013
Ironwood, Michigan - A meth lab gets the blame for a fire which badly damaged a duplex in Ironwood.

Now, two people are under arrest, facing serious felony charges.

Ironwood police say the New Year's Eve fire struck a duplex at 131 South Mansfield street.

On Wednesday, police conducted several searches, and arrested two Ironwood residents, 34 year old Justin Farrsiar and 27 year old Tammy Korpela. Each has been arraigned on five felony charges, including operating a meth lab in the presence of a minor, and operating a meth lab near a school or church.

Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years.

Bond for both suspects is set at 50-thousand dollars.

They are being held in the Gogebic County jail.
