Madison - We'll know later today how successful deer hunters were this season.
The nine day firearm deer season ended Sunday, but hunters had through Monday to register their deer.
The DNR is tabulating the numbers, and expects to have final totals this afternoon.
The season got off to a good start.
More than 130-thousand deer were harvested in Wisconsin during the opening weekend of hunting.
That was up 24-percent from last year.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp was among the successful hunters.
DNR officials say Stepp shot a seven-pointer on November 17th, the opening afternoon of Wisconsin's gun season.
She killed the deer in Buffalo County.
